Craft gorgeous resin pieces at this Kuching-based DIY workshop

Interested in creating a customised gift for all your friends and family? Want to pick up a new artistic skill? Then perhaps this resin DIY workshop is just what you need!

The workshop is held by Nostalgic Nectar (previously Gemma Artelier), an online business specialising in resin gifts for the past four years.

One of the first resin gift businesses in East Malaysia, they have many different pieces ranging from coasters and wall art to jewellery boxes and trinket trays.

However, their most popular pieces are their customised trays, name lamps, and flower blocks.

Here’s what you need to know about the workshop

There are currently two upcoming workshops, each offering different resin items to be made, and at varied prices.

On 24 September, for RM250, you can learn how to make two floral coasters and one trinket tray, while on 22 October, for RM350, you’ll make a mini cheese platter board and two ocean themed coasters.

The workshops will begin at 1 p.m. and last for three and a half hours, ending at 3:30 p.m. The venue will be at Penns Pantry which is located in the Sekama area (Google Maps).

There will be limited slots and light refreshments will be provided throughout the workshop.

Everything made will be practical enough to be used, which means they will be easily cleaned, so there’s no worry about only display pieces here.

These resin DIY workshops are for anyone who is interested in learning the art, but the minimum age requirement is 16 because there are certain safety standards that need to be adhered to.

While each product has its own difficulty level, you can slowly get the hang of it after you grasp the basics.

You’re totally welcome to come together with your significant other or even make it a group outing or a bonding day with your mum!

In fact, Nostalgic Nectar is open to corporate events or bridal shower events or anyone who wants to explore this new world of art.

And, if you miss these two workshops, the business is aiming to have more DIY workshops in the future where different products or designs will be made.

This way, you can join whichever workshop you are interested in. Future workshops will likely be held next year and conducted on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.

So, if you’re interested in making these gorgeous resin pieces with your own hands, don’t hesitate and book a slot today!
